Dr. Beth George - CALS Distinguished Alumna!

Dr. Beth George
CALS has honored Dr. S. Elizabeth George as one of its two 2011-2012 Distinguished Alumni. Beth received her 1979 master’s degree and 1984 Ph.D. in Microbiology from N.C. State University, working in the
laboratory of the late Dr. Thoyd Melton. Dr. George's achievements in environmental microbiology and biothreat

Welcome New Students!!

Our undergraduate program has 13 new students for this Summer & Fall, and had 25 total join us over the course of last year.

The graduate program has 3 new PhD students, 2 new MS students, 2 new MM students and 11 new MMB students for Fall 2011.

The Micro Club (Microbiology Undergraduate Club) will have their first meeting of the 2011-2012 academic year on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 7:30 PM in the Microbiology Conference Room (4508 Thomas Hall.) Email address for the club is microclub.ncsu.edu@gmail.com. A flyer is available here.
